
A short drive from the coast
Malua Bay is a coastal village on the NSW South Coast, just minutes from Kurrajong and a short drive from Batemans Bay. Known for its beaches and relaxed pace, it’s an easy place to settle into for a weekend or longer.
Malua Bay Beach is around six minutes drive from Kurrajong, making it simple to start the day with a swim or a walk along the sand.
Local food and essentials
For everyday essentials, Malua Bay has everything close by. Stock up at the local IGA and bottle shop, or pick up coffee and something casual for lunch nearby.
Raymond’s Chinese is a long-standing local favourite for takeaway or an easy dinner. Raymond and Susie have been serving the South Coast for over 30 years.
A short drive to Lilli Pilli takes you to Three66 Espresso for Ora coffee, pastries and a well-known smashed avo.
The surrounding coastline
Malua Bay sits at the centre of a stretch of coastline with a mix of beaches and smaller coves.
To the south are Rosedale and Guerilla Bay, known for their quieter beaches and walking tracks. McKenzies Beach is a popular surf spot, while to the north Mosquito Bay offers a public boat ramp and easy water access.
Lilli Pilli and the surrounding areas provide a more secluded feel, with smaller beaches and bushland close to the water.
Walking and riding trails
Beyond the beaches, the Eurobodalla region has a growing network of walking and mountain biking trails.
The Munjip Trail starting at Makenzie’s Beach and ending at Batehaven spans Eurobodalla’s coastal headlands. At around 15km end-to-end (18km if you venture to every lookout), the Munjip Trail offers ‘a chance to immerse yourself in ecosystems of both land and sea, geology, flora, fauna and cultural heritage.’
For mountain biking, the trails around Mogo have quickly become a drawcard on the South Coast. The Mogo Trails network includes a range of tracks for different skill levels, set through forest with a mix of flow and technical riding.
Both are within an easy drive of Kurrajong and Malua Bay.

Of continuing cultural significance to local Aboriginal people, Malua Bay and surrounds traditionally provided and continues to be used for food and other natural resources.
